Oslo, Norway

            April 27, 2011                                                                         9:42pm
Heyy its Alexis. 1st we had to the capital of Norway which is “Oslo”. 2nd we had to find out what you need to have a reindeer race and you need a “U” shape valley. 3rd we had to find out what “fjord” is and it is an long narrow inlet with a steep cliff.4th we had to find out what “Trollveggen” was. The answer was “Trolls”. 5th we had to find out 2 sports in a biathlon. It was “cross country skiing and riffle shooting”. 6th then it was a “detour” we had to run 4 laps of the school altogether. It was tiring. 7th was chance I role and got bad luck which added 3 hours to our time. 8th Colin played a snowmobile game and had to complete 4 laps. It took such a long time. 9th we finished at the ice hotel named “Jukkasjarvi Sweden”. Some other things we did were:
1.      Went to the “Peninsula Museum”
2.      Went to the “Oslo Opera House”

Tokyo,Japan

We are now in Japan. It was a good week for us we thought but it really was not. We came in 8th and “Team NBA” got eliminated. Now there are only 9 teams in the race.

1st we had to fly from Oslo Norway to Tokyo Japan. We got the second best flight. 2nd we had to go and find out what was the name of the famous tourist site. It was “Mount Fuji”. 3rd we had to sing karaoke to the song “YMCA”. It was not the funniest thing to do. 4th we had to find the famous palace called the “Imperial Palace”. 5th we had to watch a video on “Sumo Wrestling” a traditional sport in Japan. We had to find out how you win, how long it last and how can you tell the best “Sumo Wrestlers” from the others. The answers are push the other person out of the ring and knock them down, less than a minute and ropes around the waist. 6th was a “Roadblock” I let Colin do it. He won on the first try here try it: http://www.myphyisicslab.com/collisionGame.html . 7th we had to find the memorial museum in Japan and what date and event happened in “World War 2”. It was “Shime Peace Memorial 8”. 8th find out the name of the poisonous fish in Japan it was “Fugu”. Last but not lease the 9th thing we had to do was find the “Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo”. Some other things we did in Tokyo were:
1.      Went to the “Shibuya Crossing”
2.      Went to see “Odaiba”
3.      Went to see the “Sensoji Temple”

Amazing Tokyo

Hey its colin and we just finished the Amazing Race, and we were in Tokyo Japan! We flew from Oslo and had to find out for our first challenge what is the famous tourist site in Japan which is Mount Fuji. Then we had to sing YMCA and play the tamborine. That was a funny challenge. Next we had to watchy a video about Sumo Wrestling and you have to hit your opponent down or out of the ring, and the better wrestlers wear a rope around their waist. Then we had to play a Sumo Wrestling game and i finally beat Ashton. Then find out what very famous poisonous fish is called, the Fugu. The pitstop was to find and stay at the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo

Amazing Race Norway

Hey its Colin here and I'm going to talk to you about The Amazing Race. This week we were in Norway and our first challenge was to find out what the capital of Norway is some of you might know its Oslo. Berlin, Germany

Hey its Colin Loser here and we just finished The Amazing Race in Berlin Germany! Our first challenge was to find the name of the worlds tallest church, called Ulm Minister. Then we had to make the church out of cubes, 32 cubes exactly. Next we had to go find King Ludwig II castle. Did you know that castle was also used in the movie Sleeping Beauty. After that we drove the Auto Bahn highway then find the ingredients to the Black Forest cake. Germany is very popular for the Black Forest cake. This is because Germany is very famous for Black Forest Cake. On the 8th clue we had to find out who or what “Checkpoint Charlie ” was. It is  area where most people tried  to escape to West Germany from East Germany, most people did not make it alive. For the final clue we had to find and stay at the Berlin Radisson Hotel.

1st in England but not so lucky...

Hey its colin and im going to type about the Amazing Rcce in England! For our first challenge we had to find out when the Queen became in power then find out when the London Eye (largest ferris wheel) in London. Then I had find out how to make the 99 flake, the 99 flake is ice cream with a chocolate bar on the top of it. I decided to eat it instead of alexis and it was pretty good.Next we had to set dominoes up and show the Heelstone. I messed up because I showed the whole Stone henge when I just had to show the Heelstone... Anyways next was a yield and we got yielded by Bubblegum Bling. Payback. Then we played some rugby and then had to find a picture of the London Eye on Thames River. In the end we came in 8th.

London, England

           april 25, 2011                                                                                                         10:30pm
           This week we were in London, England and had lots fun. Also 2 teams got eliminated. They were “Team Lost” and “Team Rappers”. Well lets get back to what we had to do in the race. 1st we had to find out who was the head of the “Monarchy” it was “Queen Elizabeth” and what day she was resigned it was February 6th 1952.2nd we had to “London Eye”(the largest ferris wheel in Europe) and when it opened. 3rd it was a road block which means that only one of us could do it. So Colin did. He had to find out how to make a 99 flake. And he did it!!! Good for him. Then he had to eat it. 4th I had to make the heel stone. I was the 1st one to get it. Good for me!!! Yeah!!! 5th Yield. Grrrrrrr… ect. “Team Bubble Gum Bilng” yielded us. Pay back will come. 6th we had to play rugby we were the 1st team to finished that. Then we had to find a picture of the “Thames River and The London Eye”. Over all we finished in 8th place.
            Some other stuff we did was:

2.      “Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens”

Berlin, Germany

Heyy its Alexis,
          This week I had to do the race by myself again. 1st I flew from Kona, Hawaii to Berlin, Germany. 2nd I had to find the world’s tallest church it was called the Ulm Minister. It was 161.9 meters high and had 786 stairs. 3rd I had to make the church with cubes the number of cubes was 32. 4th I had to go to the King Ludwig II castle that was used in the movie “Sleeping Beauty”. 5th I had to drive on the “Auto Bahn” highway.6th I had to find the ingredients to a “Black Forest Cake”. This is because Germany is very famous for “Black Forest Cake”.7th I was suppose to eat a piece of “Black Forest Cake” but I couldn’t because I am lactose intolerance. So I took a 2 hour delay. 8th next I had to find out who or what “Checkpoint Charlie (Checkpoint C)” was. It is the place where most people tried to escape to West Germany from East Germany, and is where most people got killed by snipers on the towers and on the bridge. 9th I went to the hotel and stayed the night.
Some other things I did are:
1.      Went to Germany’s oldest zoo
2.      Went to the “Pergammon Museum”
3.      Went to the Berlin Radisson Hotel” with the world’s biggest aquarium
That is all I did in Berlin Germany. Have to go. Bye bye.

8th in Hawaii

After our 9 hour flight to Hawaii our first challenge was to find out the name of  of the location Japan attacked in the morning of December 7, 1941. Then we had to play some battleship which we got stuck on and lost our place. We then had to find out the name of the volcano goddess ( Pele the fire goddess). After we had to find out how many vowels and consonants are in the Hawaiian alphabet we had to pronounce "The Likelike" highway. 7 clue we had to travel by boat to the main island of Hawaii Honolulu. We had to choose one of two challenges in our next clue and then check into the Pink Palace of the Pacific to finish.

Hawaii

Heyy it's Alexis. This week we were in Hawaii I had to do it all by myself, because Colin was on a trip. But I did well I got 4th. Yeah for me! First I had to fly from Toronto to Hawaii. 2nd I had to go to the spot of the Pearl Harbour war happened with Japan. It was very cool. 3rd I played a game of battle ship it was hard because the other player was very good at guessing. Here try it: http://www.teamrandy.com/games/battleships/batleships.html .  4th I went to the goddess of volcanoes and it was called Pele. 5th I learned the Hawaiian alphabet it is a,e,i,o,u, for the vowels and h,k,l,m,n,p,w for the consonants. 6th there was a “fast forward”. But I passed it up and Team NBA got it. But now they can’t use it again. 7th I traveled by boat the Honolulu. 8th was a “detour” there was coloring and hula hooping I chose hula hooping, since I chose hula hooping I passed 3 other teams. Whoa! Last but not least I stayed at “The Pink Palace Of The Pacific”.
Some other things I did in Hawaii are:
1.     Took a helicopter tour over the island of Kauai
2.     Relaxed on Hawaii's world famous beaches
3.     Attend an authentic Polynesian Luau
4.     Shop and Dine in Waikiki
5.     Play golf at any of Hawaii's world class courses
6.     See Waimea Canyon on Kauai, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific
7.     Bike down Maui's Haleakala Mountain at sunrise
8.     Snorkel off the island of Molokini
9.     Take a whale-watching catamaran cruise
10.                        Visit the active Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island
That is what I did in Hawaii. Well I got to go so bye bye.

Athens, Greece

Heyy, its Alexis loser here I am going to tell you about our trip to Athens, Greece. First we had to fly from Toronto, Ontario to Athens, Greece. After we got off the plane we started the race. We had to find the largest temple in Greece and go to it if we were wanted to save time and we did. The temple is called Olympian Zues. Then we went to watch a wrestling match called “pankration” the only rules are: no eye gouging or biting. We went to the Olympics to get train but only one person could do it so I did. I got it on my first try! Yeah! After we went to get trained how to play the “boyzouki” it was pretty cool. Next up was chance Colin (my brother) did it. He rolled 53. Then we went to the largest Greek island called Crete. From there we went on an all expense cruise around the Greek islands. It was lovely. Some other things we did were:
1. Greek cooking lessons.
2. A half an hour sighting tour.

3. Guided Tour of Athens New Acropolis Museum.
4. Watch a Greek dancing show well eating dinner.
5. Went on the Acropolis Walking Tour.

Team Losers 1st place!

Hey its Colin Loser and we won! We went to Greece and saw the largest temple "Olympian Zues". We learned what the Greek event, "Pankration" is. The pankration event is a martial art that has two rules; no eye gouging or biting. We watched a video with George Dalaras who was playing his common Greek instrument, which we had to find out, the Bouzouki. We had trouble with the locals because they didn't like us and wouldn't help us, and we had to find the name of the Greek island Crete. Bye.

Team Losers in Brtish Columbia

Hey, its Colin Loser and we just finished the Amazing Race in British Columbia. We placed 2nd! At the beginning me and my sister (Alexis Loser) had to take a immagration test and had to get atleast 70% on it. We fished for the Halibut for the next clue, and had to score a goal in hockey to move on. Our pitstop was the Fairmont Chateau Whistler the number one ranked ski and golf resort in Canada.

British Columbia (Vancouver)

Hey! My name is Alexis and I am going to be telling you what we are doing in the amazing race this year. Today we (my brother Colin and I) went to Vancouver British Columbia. First in Vancouver we had to do an immigration test and we had to at least get 70% and we did. Yeah for us! Second we went to Stanley Park and played a game we had to get 6000 points. Here try it http://www.cbc.ca/kids/games/skeetersplat/ . Next it was what is called a yield we yielded team twilight and made them two hours late. Then we went to the museum of Olympics to see how many gold silver and bronze medals Canada got. Oh! And what place Canada got. Fifth Colin went fishing. Then we went and played some hockey with the neighbourhood kids. After the game was done the kids ask if we wanted to come back in the summer and play some lacrosse. We said Sure. After all that we went to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and stayed the night. Some other thing we did is:

1.     Go to the District Foyer Art Gallery


2.     Went to the Lions Music & Dance Festival ( because I love dancing with all my heart)

3.     Street Dance  


4.     We went to the Rally for Tibet to seaport our troops


5.     And last we went to see The Pillowman
